National Intelligence Hub (NIH) Teams

National Targeting Centre

The NIH comprises of several National Targeting Centres (NTC) which are responsible for identifying key priority targets and developing intelligence through its symbiotic relationship with other intelligence departments.

NTC Economic Crime

The NTC Economic Crime Team currently focuses on two main economic crime types impacting the UK and globally – Fraud and Money Laundering. NTC-EC deals with both these threats, developing intelligence from a range of sources, using all the capabilities available to the NCA, to provide investigative opportunities to tackle the most significant individuals and crime groups participating in these threats.

NTC Bribery and Corruption Intelligence Unit (BCIU)

The NTC Bribery and Corruption Intelligence Unit (BCIU) investigates instances of grand corruption and bribery overseas that give rise to criminal offences in the UK, working in close partnership with the International Corruption Unit (ICU) and overseas law enforcement partners. As an Intelligence Officer in the BCIU you will be responsible for assessing, scoping and developing a pipeline of covert investigations and providing pivotal dynamic tactical intelligence support to tasked operations.

NTC International Anti-Corruption Coordination Centre

The NTC International Anti-Corruption Coordination Centre is an international, multiagency team of investigators and intelligence analysts that provides dedicated operational support to grand corruption investigations. Any law enforcement agency or prosecuting authority in the world can refer a case to the IACCC for operational assistance. As an intelligence officer in the IACCC you will work on a daily basis with foreign law enforcement partners and develop the intelligence picture on some of the most high-profile and impactful corruption cases in the world.

NTC Hardened Secure Communications (HSC), Torchlight

The NTC Hardened Secure Communications (HSC), Torchlight is part of the NTC with officers based in London, Warrington and Birmingham who have a mixture of intelligence and technical skills. The team leads the response to the threat from criminally dedicated secure communications devices.

Torch-Light leads the UK response to HSC devices. Key areas of focus include, building a detailed understanding of the HSC marketplace and its impact on the UK, understanding the reseller networks supplying HSC devices OCGs impacting the UK, building capability to gather intelligence on the users of HSC platforms, coordinating the use of intelligence/ evidence from material gathered from HSC operations, understand the UK legislation governing the use of intelligence and evidence gathering required to conduct HSC operations and working with international partners to understand the marketplace and build capability.

NTC Combatting Kleptocracy Cell (CKC)

The NTC Combatting Kleptocracy Cell (CKC) is a cross-command operational unit which investigates and disrupts State Threat linked serious and organised crime, including high-end money laundering and financial sanctions offences. The Intelligence Team works alongside officers from Investigations, the UK Financial Intelligence Unit (UKFIU), and the National Economic Crime Centre (NECC). CKC Intelligence Officers will work with a wide range of international and domestic partners including the UK Intelligence Agencies and cross-Whitehall departments; using the full range of intelligence collection tactics available to target these high value subjects.

NTC National Drugs Targeting Centre

The NTC National Drugs Targeting Centre is responsible for leading proactive covert development operations into high level drug traffickers impacting the UK. The NDTC are a multifunctional all source development team with unique capabilities at their disposal. NDTC Officers develop unique insight into the world of international narcotics trafficking and utilise their skills to develop intelligence leads, identify high value targets and secure criminal justice outcomes against the most serious drug trafficking networks.

Project TABLEMATE

Project TABLEMATE is responsible for leading proactive covert development operations into Western Balkans OCGs. The Project TABLEMATE team are a multifunctional all source development team with unique capabilities at their disposal. Project TABLEMATE develop unique insight into Western Balkans OCGs and the criminal landscape impacting the UK. The team utilise their skills to develop intelligence leads, identify high value targets and secure criminal justice outcomes against the most prolific Western Balkans OCGs impacting the UK.

NTC Immigration Disruption Team

The NTC Immigration Disruption Team are a specialist team of NCA Officers and embedded Home Office Intelligence Officers responsible for securing non-conventional disruptive outcomes for against the most serious criminals. The team proactively utilise a range of specialist immigration disruption measures including Deprivation of British Citizenship, Prevention of Naturalisation, Visa Revocation, Excluding and Deporting high harm offenders from the UK. The IDT is comprised of trained Intelligence Officers who utilise a range of covert and sensitive capabilities to achieve high impact disruptions.

NTC National Firearms Targeting Centre

The NTC National Firearms Targeting Centre tackles the threat posed to the public by illegal firearms. Working with partners across the public and private sector, nationally and internationally, it develops intelligence and supports investigations which combat firearms crime.

NTC Borders

The NTC Borders works within a Multi-Agency environment to develop and deliver new and unique intelligence pipelines, supporting Serious and Organised Crime system wide efforts to tackle threats at the border including insider threat, drugs, firearms, cash movements and organised immigration crime.

Maritime, Aviation & Military Intervention Cell (MAMIC)

Maritime, Aviation & Military Intervention Cell (MAMIC) is the subject matter expert for all general maritime (GM), general aviation (GA) and military related matters. The team hold the lead for the development of intelligence in relation GM and GA and the provision of specialist advice and support to NCA operations. MAMIC is the gateway to engagement with partners from the Armed Forces and the co-ordination of maritime and air assets via law enforcement and military partners.

NTC Prisons and Lifetime Management

The NTC Prisons and Lifetime Management team keep track of organised criminals with post-incarceration orders. Once they leave prison this team monitors their activity to make sure that they are not re-establishing their criminal businesses in the community. If they do, then it is the officers on this team who carry out early interdiction to send them back to jail.

NTC Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation (CSAE)

The NTC Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation (CSAE) team deliver a variety of proactive and bulk data CSAE operations aligned to the priority CSAE sub-threats, using a range of diverse and innovative tools, as well as urgent support against incoming intelligence feeds. Successful candidates will conduct complex and wide ranging intelligence development, and will need to be flexible in their approach to work across the team. Officers can expect a challenging but rewarding work environment.

NTC Organised Immigration Crime (OIC)

The NTC Organised Immigration Crime (OIC) is split into three teams; IAT, TDT and OIC Fusion Cell. The teams aim to cover the OIC and modern slavery and human trafficking serious organised crime threat area. The team is responsible for collecting, analysing and disseminating intelligence to develop investigations to be passed on to operational teams. As well as holding the overall Picture of Threat posed to the UK by OIC and MSHT, the desk conducts intelligence developments with the aim of disrupting the flow of illegal migrants to the UK. Alongside colleagues from Immigration Enforcement who are embedded with us, we target facilitators both upstream and in the UK, and also those involved in the production and supply of false travel documents.

Joint Fusion Cell

The Joint Fusion Cell is a collaborative multi-agency initiative tasked with delivering the single OIC intelligence assessment and driving the SOC system for the United Kingdom through data exploitation and collaboration. Bringing together the skills, tools and knowledge of staff from across HM Government Agencies we consolidate and amplify the UK’s efforts in combatting cross channel Small Boat movements and the wider OIC threat. We work together as one intelligence team sharing a single vision and platforms to allocate and track tasks, produce products and outputs for all partners, irrespective of parent organisations, recognising that all success is shared and delivered through collaboration. JFC staff access, integrate, develop, de-conflict and analyse data from all member organizations’ systems and then disseminate intelligence products as appropriate to any of the partner agencies and beyond.

Regional Intelligence Teams (RITs)

Within the NIH, there are a number of Regional Intelligence Teams (RITs) making up a nationwide network of intelligence officers providing proactive and dynamic intelligence expertise to criminal investigations, co-located with investigations and law enforcement partners. The RIT network is core to NCA operational delivery and an integral part of the investigative process. RIT officers exploit all available techniques to develop intelligence to target serious & organised crime upstream, overseas and online. We work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and support the deployment of covert and overt tactics in support of operational objectives. RITs are co-located with Investigation teams at a number of locations across the UK.
