Collection
Intelligence Collection coordinates NCA collection capabilities against the NCA’s highest priorities. Intelligence Collection includes forensics, open source, covert human intelligence sources, undercover officers and technical collection capabilities. This includes responding to threats and exploiting opportunities relating to the use of electronic communications by Subjects of Interest using the various powers conferred within the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (IPA). This is a dynamic and diverse arena with constant and rapid change, suiting those officers who thrive on near constant challenge.
International
The International Department works with international partners and coordinates UK law enforcement support overseas to gather and share intelligence, conduct operational activity and enhance international delivery through a variety of means, including capacity building, training, and joint European and International taskforces. The International Department also provides the specialist capabilities available through its membership of INTERPOL and EUROPOL in supporting UK law enforcement intelligence and operational requirements, and working directly with partners to safeguard vulnerable members of the community.
Data & Analysis Hub
The D&A Hub is the result of the NCA’s ambition to consolidate, professionalise and improve the flow of data and intelligence from acquisition and exploitation through to analysis, assessment and dissemination. The D&A Hub works to ensure the NCA fully understands the increasingly complex Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) landscape and can prioritise accordingly. The D&A Hub is made up of a number of teams covering a variety of roles. The ever-evolving change in threats the UK faces from serious and organised crime puts the D&A Hub right at the heart of intelligence led policing.
National Intelligence Hub
The National Intelligence Hub (NIH) is responsible for delivering tactical intelligence and strategic assessment for the NCA and Serious Organised Crime (SOC) system, in order to understand and articulate the threat from SOC and generate the most impactful opportunities for disruption and reduction of that threat. Working closely with other departments, the NIH is at the heart of the NCA, analysing and exploiting all source intelligence to deliver opportunities which drive NCA and partner activity. The NIH continually develops the intelligence picture of SOC that impacts on the UK, so we can flex law enforcement’s collective resources against changing threats.
National Tasking & Co-ordination
