National Data Exploitation Capability (NDEC)
NDEC puts data analysis and exploitation at the centre of the NCA, driving decision making at all levels. The capability allows the NCA to harness the power of data science, machine learning, automation and strong data analytical skills to further support NCA activity. Comprising a number of teams/roles including:
- Data acquisition and management: data management specialists acquiring datasets and ensuring governance throughout the data lifecycle
- Data Integration: Data engineering specialists processing data into mission capabilities
- Data lab: Data scientists and analysts deriving insights from data and developing pilot exploitation capabilities
- CapDev: Software engineers and delivery managers developing, deploying and managing mission capabilities
- Biometrics: Specialists analysing and exploiting biological data and driving innovative capabilities
NDEC keeps law enforcement at the leading edge in the fight against SOC.
Tactical Intelligence Analysis Team (TIAT)
TIAT forms a vital part of the D&A Hub Operations Team. TIAT supports the greatest threat, risk and harm across the country by determining the best use of analytical resource pro-actively, reactively and through judicial proceedings.
Target Discovery and Development (TDDT)
The aim of the team is to look at networks or problems holistically and identify maximum disruption opportunities. Achieved through innovative intelligence analysis and development of intelligence opportunities which are fed into the NCA’s tasking system via dedicated intelligence officers.
Central Capabilities Team
The Central Capabilities Team (CCT) builds on the NDEC HQ function, extending their offering across the entire Data & Analysis Hub. The CCT provides critical support to D&A Hub Teams, ensuring they can continue to provide essential services in support of NCA objectives.
