ILO Network
The NCA International Liaison Officer network provides NCA support to over 130 countries and is supported by UK based Officers to lead and develop operational activity overseas in support of NCA objectives; provide support and add value to investigations and intelligence analysis where appropriate; provide expertise on country-specific legislation, operational risk and strategic knowledge; and develop and maintain relationships with international partners.
We work with international partners and coordinate UK law enforcement overseas to gather intelligence, conduct operational activity and enhance international delivery through a variety of means, including capacity building, training, and joint European and International taskforces.
International Regional Desks
The primary role of the Regional Desk is to lead and develop operational activity overseas via the NCA International Liaison Officers (ILOs) in support of NCA objectives.
The Regional Desks also facilitate and coordinate support to NCA and partner operations upstream. They liaise with ILOs and provide advice and guidance on overseas operational capabilities best suited to the objectives being sought. Regional Desks can perform database research, intelligence analysis, intelligence collection via ILOs, gain tactical operational support from host nations and initiate joint investigations with host countries.
Joint International Crime Centre
The Joint International Crime Centre (JICC), houses critical international cooperation functions and services to policing and wider law enforcement. The JICC leads and coordinates lawful international cooperation through a 24/7 service that prioritises and responds to operational requirements of domestic and international partners.
International Support Team
The International Support Team (IST) play a vital role in providing support and co-ordination to both the International Network and teams in the UK. The portfolio of the IST is broad ranging and includes Workforce Planning, Training and Logistics. These areas focus on supporting the recruitment of ILOs and UK Officers and ensuring they are prepared for their postings through the organisation and delivery of training and logistical support whilst they are overseas.
