Policy & Employee Relations
The HR Policy and Employee Relations team is responsible for the development and maintenance of HR policy for the NCA. Working with colleagues across HR, the wider business and the Civil Service to draft, review, design and communicate people-related polices.
A key responsibility is ensuring we develop and maintain an effective and collaborative relationship with the Trades Unions (TUs). We manage the regular formal meetings with the TUs and senior leaders and any issues that arise; supporting our leaders in negotiations and consultation as required.
The team also undertake other high impact NCA wide HR projects as required.
Complex Case Team
The Complex Case Team (CCT) are the recognised experts within HR dealing with misconduct/discipline, grievances, and capability cases necessitating in-depth knowledge of NCA policies and procedures, ACAS guidelines, and up-to-date employment law. As a team, CCT, provide HR advice and guidance to line managers on a wide range of complex people related issues, including absence/attendance, managing performance/under-performance, resolving workplace disputes/grievances, and working closely with our Professional Standards Unit on misconduct & discipline panels/issues.
Health and Safety
The Health and Safety (H&S) team deliver an enabling H&S service across the NCA, promoting compliance with H&S law and best practice whilst supporting business area objectives in protecting the public.
This supports the NCA vision to be a world class law enforcement agency by minimising disruption from accidents and ill health to officers and those affected by our work activities through the provision of effective health and safety management systems.
HR Modernisation
The HR Modernisation Team is focussed on transforming the way we deliver HR services across the NCA, by critically evaluating current business practice to identify opportunities for improvement, working with senior stakeholders in the HR community and business to design solutions that enable the right outcomes to be efficiently delivered, and project managing the implementation of solutions. We are an inclusive and supportive team, with experience of delivering people-related change.
