Finance Business Partnering
The Finance Business Partners work with all NCA business areas to plan and prioritise our resource and capital expenditure to optimise delivery. Throughout the year they monitor and advise the business on performance against the financial plan. The team is accountable for the delivery of a management accounting service for specific business areas, teams and projects, ensuring reporting and transactional accuracy.
Financial Control and Systems
The Financial Control team ensures compliance with our statutory, regulatory and corporate governance duties. Most notably, this involves preparing the Annual Accounts and liaising with both the internal and external auditors. It also includes submitting financial reports to the Home Office, tax returns to HMRC and managing our seized funds. The Systems area of Finance supervise and oversee the operating processes and activities for the System Admin functions including: iPos and Sun Systems Admin support, Vision Excel support, and play an integral role in the iPos upgrade project implementation.
Financial Strategy
The Financial Strategy team supports the NCA’s investment and capability strategy by providing sound financial advice through the end-to-end process of an investment from a business case through to benefits realisation. Their input includes providing analysis on value for money and evaluation of options for any investment opportunity.
Transactional Services
The Transactional Services team processes financial transactions such as paying supplier invoices, manage banking services, invoicing customers and supporting international officers with foreign currency. The teams are integral to ensuring all financial transactions are legal, compliant, inline within NCA policy and meet audit requirements.
Payroll and Pensions
The Payroll and Pension teams work together to provide a high quality and reliable service to NCA officers, ensuring they are paid in accordance to their contract and comply with regulations, including any changes such as implementing pay award, tax code or post changes such as promotion. Along with ensuring pension contributions are correct and pension arrangements are made for officers leaving the NCA.
Finance Consolidation Team
The Finance Consolidation Team collate and amalgamate data from various sources to provide accurate and reliable financial reports and statements to inform decision-making, view organisational performance, resolve discrepancies and comply with legislation and regulations.
